Creating QR Code( on the Fly)

To create a QR Code

1. Open the Google URL Shortener(www.goo.gl)
2. Paste the URL in the Paste your long URL here text box.
3. Click Shorten URL.
4. Copy the shortened URL.
5. Paste the shortened URL in the address bar of the browser. Do not press Enter.
6. Append .qr to the shortened URL 
7. Press Enter; the QR code is generated.

Pros

• Goo.gl is free
• No need for a QR-generation app.
• Advanced analytic to report number of clicks, locales (countries), platforms (operating systems), browsers. 
• The service can be accessed from mobiles/tablets. 

Cons

• You can generate QR codes only for URLs. You cannot generate QR codes for SMS, phone numbers, texts etc.,

• QR codes is of 150 X 150 pixel dimension. You cannot control the dimension.
